Help - Setting Taxes and Food Rations

So you want to know how you can play around with your taxes and food rations in order to get the maximum out of them ?
Then the following info should cover that :

Set new rations & taxes

In order to produce anything in the game you need workers . In order to have workers you need population . Population grows only by one way , by birth rate .
The higher is your birt rate the faster you will be able to fill the free worker spots and the faster you will receive resources , train armies etc.

Birth rate is high if your people are happy . So you should make them happy , but remember that later in the game , when you will have large
armies , making some followers unhappy would be a lesser problem than not having the necessary gold to maintain your armies .
So on the page you have to drop down menues :
Food Ration = modifier : No Ration = -2 ( 0 food / worker)
Quarter Rations = -0.7(0.25 food / worker)
Half Rations = -0.3(0.5 food / worker)
Normal Rations = 1(1 food / worker)
Double Rations = 1.3(1.25 food / worker)
Full Rations = 1.7 (1.5 food / worker)

Tax Rate = modifier : Extreme Tax = -0.7(1.5 gold / worker)
High Tax = -0.3 (1.25gold / worker)
Normal Tax = 1(1 gold / worker)
Moderate Tax = 1.3(0.5gold / worker)
Small Tax = 1.7 (0.25 gold / worker)

Let's explain a bit what numbers mean .
The red numbers are a sort of modifiers , modifiers that are used to calculate the birt rate formula ( Population growth / hour : 6 * (Food Ration + Tax Rate) )
which means that if you have negative red numbers then you will have a bad population growsth and vice-versa .

For example a Normal Rations ( 1(1 food / worker) ) will adda modifier of 1 to the formula while a High Tax will add a modifier of -0.3 to the formula .
Now , if we calculate the result of the formula we will see that by making this settings we will have a population growth of 6 * ( 1 - 0.3 ) = 6* ( 0.7 ) = 4 / hour . Which translates : our population will grow by 4 every hour

There are many strategies that you can adopt with this settings . For example , if you have troops , and you have a good gold reserve ( enough to pay the troops taxes for 24+ hours ) you could set the tax rate to
Small Tax , thus increasing your population growth a lot but forcing you to use the gold reserves you have . There are many more strategies that you can apply , but the fun part is discovering and using them to
have an advantage over your enemies.

Good luck !
